1) Genealogy of Jesus, The Messiah
- Matthew
1:1-17 -
a)
Matthew Uses Joseph Family Tree
for Jesus Genealogy;
Matthew starts with
Jesus Christ Genealogy in
order
to prove that Jesus Christ is
the rightful heir
to the
throne of David and the
promised messiah! And
Matthew uses Joseph's Genealogy
line unlike Luke
because Genealogy lines,
always starts with the
man rather than the women.
Sense the baby always comes from
the man before it enters the
woman. The
audience he has
written the book of
Matthew to, is
the Jewish people that was living in Palestine
at the time. The Jewish
people like many cultures highly
regarded the Family Tree
(Genealogy) for a great deal
of proof of who some one is and
from. Matthew
did
not start
with Abrams dad Terah (Gen
11:26-32)
regarding Jesus Christ
genealogy.
Instead Matthew
started Jesus Christ Genealogy with
Abram (Abraham
Gen 17:5)
since it was Abraham
that God
called and not his dad Terah (Gen
12:1). This was Because Terah and
many others worshiped
other gods instead of our one true God (Joshua
24:2) to which is a
abomination
for anyone to do
(Ex
20:3-4,
Dt 5:7-8). (
res-1j
and 2a,
2c, 2e, 2g ).
b) The
Importance of Jesus Christ
Genealogy; Be
like a Berean, Search Scriptures
Acts 17:11-12
As always it
is extremely
important to prove where and how
Jesus Christ came to be,
especially
since many times he was not only
claiming royalty but even more
so claiming he is son of God,
God in
the flesh (Mt
16:15-20, Mk 15:61-62, Lk 22:70,
24:44-53, Jn 6:35, 6:41, 6:51,
8:12-32, etc)! So
then since Jesus was claiming such
things, it is extremely
important not just to the Jews
but the rest of the world,
as well to make sure that Jesus
Christ is who he says he is!
We like all people should check
out the evidence for our selves
to make
sure that Jesus Christ is
who he
says he is, so that there will
never be any doubt as to who
Jesus is, even in the back of
our minds! So
with our belief in him, we can
be sure that we do have complete
Faith without ever doubting our
selves
ever!
Out of my over 30+ years as a
Born Again Christian, I have seen
tons of evidence through
prophecies,
digs,
etc that Jesus Christ and the
Bible are highly true.
And there is much more evidence,
if we pay close attention to his
teachings that we will see that he is
extremely wise and truthful all
of the time! Friends we should
never blindly follow anyone with
out
evidence
that they are from God, of God
and with Gods authority!
Jesus Christ miracles as well
proves
that he is the
Christ, the son of God, God in
the flesh as well, and have the
power of God. Plus there were well over 500
witness
that seen Jesus
Christ after he rose from the
dead (1Co
15:1-8). And through out
the years there has been old
ancient
writings even from secular
people that wrote about
Jesus Christ!
(
res-1j
and 2a,
2c, 2e, 2g )
c) Purpose
of Jesus Christ Genealogy;
To Prove He is the Promised
Messiah;
1) Jesus
Christ is the son of God, the
Promised Messiah. (All
Nations Blessed
via Jesus
Christ through
salvation);
Genesis 22:18,26:4,.....35:11)
2) That
he is the son of Abraham & of
David (Psalms
110:1, Mt 1:1, Lk 3:34, 20:42-43)
3) His
Inheritance to David's Throne (Da
2:44, 7:14-27, Mic 4:7, Lk 1:32)
4) That
Jesus Christ shall come from
Abraham that is a father of "ALL
NATIONS"
(Genesis
12:3,
17:1-6,
22:18),
Those with Faith in Jesus Christ
is Abrahams Seed, Christian Jew
and Christian Gentile Both!
5) and
all nations shall be blessed
through Abraham, that
blessing God spoke of was the
coming of the
promised Messiah
Jesus Christ him self (Gen
22:18)
to which all nations shall put
their hope, trust and hope into (Isaiah
42:1-4, Matthew 12:21).
6) and
as well Jesus Christ shall come
from King David (2
Samuel 7:12, Psalms 89:3, 132:11).
So when
it all is said and
done regarding Jesus Christ
blood line and so on, proves
that Jesus Christ line is not just a King, but a Kings of
Kings
(1 Timothy 6:15, Revelations
17:14, 19:16) and
a Lord of
Lords (1Ti
6:15, Rev 17:14, 19:16)
(For many nations and kings
shall come from Abraham and
David) to which Jesus Christ
himself will
rule over (Romans
15:12),
to which Abraham is the
Father of All Nations not just Israel (Gen
18:18, 22:18)
for Abraham was a Gentile
himself as well.
(
res-1j
and 2a,
2c, 2e, 2g ).
d) Jesus
Christ Genealogy Traced from;
1) Matthew
uses Joseph's Genealogy Line
from "David's
son Solomon" to
trace Jesus Christ Line.
2) The
reason why Matthew uses Joseph's
Line is because usually
Genealogies are traced through
the
male, since
the seed usually starts with the
male and not the woman instead
of using Mary's Line via David's
other Son Nathan
like Luke did (Luke
3:23-38)
e) Organized
Genealogy List
(Matthew) -
I also compiled a nice & neat
organized genealogy list of our
Lord
Jesus Christ
(42 Generations) in 3 Columns
14 generations in each column to
keep you a real good visual
view. BUT
is the42nd
generation missing? Matthew
Genealogy List..

I'm Currently Studying This!
2) Joseph
accepts Jesus as His Son - Matthew
1:18-25 -
a)
Jesus Christ
Adopted *Accepted by Joseph.
- Friends many do
not realize that Joseph adopted,
that is
accepted Jesus Christ as his son
even though Mary was pregnant
before her and Joseph ever came
together (be intimate). You see
since Jesus Christ came to Mary
through the Holy Spirit, Joseph
wasn't Jesus Christ biological dad, God is Jesus
Christ Father. But God
placed Joseph in charge of
raising his son Jesus Christ in perfection, to be a
sacrificial lamb, the perfect
sacrifice for our sins.
b) Matthew
1:18 - Joseph
and Mary Betrothed -
Now at this time Mary and Joseph
were betrothed,
(Engaged) to
which in the Jewish culture was
about the same thing as actually
being married, except they
did not yet
have
intimacy, or lived under the
same roof just yet.
that is engaged
to be married. In the Jewish
laws and customs Mary was
considered Joseph's lawful wife
when they were betrothed
(Engaged).
The betrothal (promise
to marry) process
usually takes at least one year
or more, before the marriage is
done and completed. The woman
doesn't live in the same house
with the man until the one year
betrothal process is over.
(Definition
of Betroth)
- (Easton's Bible Dictionary)
- to promise "by one's truth."
Men and women were betrothed when
they were engaged to be married.
This usually took place a year
or more before marriage. From
the time of betrothal the
woman was regarded as the lawful
wife of the man to whom she was betrothed (Deuteronomy
28:30; Judges 14:2,8; Matthew
1:18-21).
The term is figuratively
employed of the
spiritual connection between God and his
people (Hosea
2:19,20).
Now
Joseph and Mary were not
intimate with each other until
after Jesus Christ was (Mt
1:18)
Born so
that they would not
commit fornication and obey the
Law, and so that Jesus Christ
would be Born absolutely pure
without imperfection of any
kind. Later he would be the
perfect lamb sacrifice for our sins.
(See Barnes
Commentary Notes).
So in the Jewish customs if
Joseph and Mary would have been
intimate with each other before
the betrothal process was over,
they would have committed
fornication (Dt
24:1).
Now I do not know how they kept
the people from knowing that
Mary was pregnant though. The
people knew that Joseph and Mary
was not yet Married (Betrothal
Process Completed).
The whole
thing would had to been
kept top
secret from everyone or her
belly didn't show her pregnancy
as in the cases of some women of
today or her clothing. was very
large to hide her belly.
c) Matthew
1:19-20 - Joseph
wanted to Divorce Mary -
When Joseph discovered that Mary
was pregnant
he
immediately
thought she wasn't a virgin and
had slept with another man (Dt
24:1).
Which we know she did not do
that! But the Angel of the Lord
told Joseph in a dream that
(Paraphrased) that it is was the
Holy Spirit that made Mary
pregnant and in that confirmed
to Joseph that she was still a
virgin. Since Mary was
considered
Josephs legal wife in
the Betrothal and "IF" she would
have slept with another man.
Joseph would have the legal right to divorce Mary and that
is the ONLY WAY a betrothed man
can legally
break up with his
Betrothed! WE Know Mary though
is a VIRGIN until after Jesus
Christ was born (Mt
1:25).
d) Matthew
1:20 - Jesus
Christ Had to Remain Pure, A
Virgin Birth, To be a
Sacrificial Lamb -
Jesus
Christ him self had to
remain pure, from mankind's
wickedness, that is the nature
of sin from the time of
conception all the way through
his ministry and to his
crucifixion. He had to remain
pure so he could be the perfect sacrificial lamb during the
Jewish pass over.
That is why
Jesus Christ was not born of
man, that is from Joseph, Mary's Husband.
Instead He was born from the power
of the Holy Spirit to
which the Holy Spirit, the
Spirit of God is pure, perfect
and Holy and of Truth through
Mary. But
Jesus Christ also had a body of
flesh, that we also have that
can place
temptations in the way!
(WE
KNOW JESUS CHRIST NEVER HAS
SINNED!)
So "IF" Jesus Christ would have
been born from Joseph himself
then Jesus Christ would have
inherited the sin nature
from birth that was from Adam and would have sinned
in childhood through adulthood like the
rest of us, because he then
would have been born with the
natural desires to sin from
birth on (Romans
7:5).
You
see my friend you never have to
teach your child to do bad
things, because of their sin
nature they
automatically do bad things
without any one ever teaching
them to.
So friend
where was Jesus Christ at when
he went missing at the age of
12? He was at church doing
his
FATHERS
(GODS) business (Lk
2:41-52)!
He
was not out playing with other
children like most children
do!
He was already at a very young
age doing the will of God!
Jesus Christ even as a
child has never
sinned!
Jesus Christ had to be the
perfect sacrifice, pure and Holy
Without any blemish, and without
any imperfections of any kind in
order to be that perfect
sacrifice for our sins (1Peter
1:19-21)..
e) Matthew
1:21 - Jesus
will save "His Chosen" people
from their Sins -
Now the name Jesus is Greek for
the Hebrew Name
Joshua, Meaning "God With Us"
(See Info Below for more on that
Name). Now Jesus Christ
did not
come to give us a better, Job,
House, perfect life etc. NO he
came to save his people (The
Elect, The Predestined People (Matthew
24:31, Mark 13:20, Romans 11:7,
Titus 1:1).
They are the Body of Jesus
Christ (1Corinthians
12:27, Ephesians 4:12).
They are His Bride (John
3:29, Revelations 18:23, 19:7,
21:2, 21:9),
(The
Chosen People of God, Born Again
Christians,
Jew & Gentiles (John
3:3-21, 1Peter 1:23). GOD
DOES NOT SHOW Partiality (Gal
3:28-29)
and Favor the Jews over the
Gentiles and vice versa! Those
are the
people
of God that through repentance,
Faith in Jesus Christ and
Obedience to
him (Matthew
4:17, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3, John
15:4, 15:9-10),
his
teachings that
are saved from their bondages of
sin and will inherit eternal
life, but those that rejects
Jesus
Christ Gods wrath remains
on them (John
3:36)!
f) Matthew
1:22-23 - Prophecy
Fulfilled, Jesus is God -
As the Lord spoken to the
Prophet Isaiah about the
future
of the
Messiah Jesus Christ in Isaiah
7:14 concerning
a virgin (Mary) will be with
child (Jesus
Christ Immanuel).
Now the people will call Jesus
as "God With Us" (Immanuel)
because Jesus Christ is God in
the
flesh (John
1:1-18)
and they will (the chosen
Christians) refer to Jesus as
"God Being With Us".
(Definition
of Immanuel) -
(Easton's Bible Dictionary)
- God
with us.
In the Old Testament it occurs
only in Isaiah
7:14 and8:8. Most
Christians interpreters have
regarded these words as directly
and exclusively a prophecy of
our Savior, an interpretation
borne out by the words of the
evangelist Matthew
(1:23).
(Meanings
of Jesus Names/Authority)
- Resource
The Bible Exposition Commentary
on the NT -
Matthew
1:18-25 Thename
Jesus means "Savior" and
comes from the Hebrew name,
Joshua ("Jehovah is
salvation").
There were many Jewish boys with
the name Joshua (or, in the
Greek, Jesus); but Mary's Boy
was called "Jesus the Christ."
The word Christ means
"anointed"; it is the Greek
equivalent of Messiah.
He is
(in Greek) "Jesus" the Messiah."
and (in Hebrew) Joshua, Jesus is
His human name; Christ is His
official title; and Immanuel describes
who He is - "God
with us."
Jesus Christ is God! We find
this name 'Immanuel"
in Isaiah
7:14and 8:8.
g) Matthew
1:24-25 - Joseph
Obeyed the Angel -
So Joseph obeying the Angel that
had spoken to him in a
dream took Mary
as his wife, he completed the
Betrothal Process and Married
most likely before Jesus
Christ was Born so that Jesus Christ
would not be born out of
wedlock.. Joseph did not come
together (Be Intimate) with Mary until Jesus Christ was Born and
in doing so, kept Jesus Christ
pure during pregnancy and after
pregnancy.
3) The
Astrologers (Greek, Magi) Men visits the Messiah - Matthew
2:1-12 -
a) Matthew
2:1a - Jesus
Christ Born in The Kingdom of
Judah -
Even though Jesus was born in
Bethlehem,
(City of David), (Kingdom of Judah, Southern
Region), (Matthew
2:6). Note; That
the word Judea is
Greco-Roman
name for Judah!
b) Matthew
2:1b-2 - The
Wise Men -
the Astrologers,
I.E. Wise Men),
(scripture doesn't say how
many)
there was. In those
days people usually traveled in
large caravans for protection
from bandits. wise men
that
came from
the east from afar away land,
possibly the Oriental & Arab
(Asian) regions. They were
possibly gentile astrologers,
and studiers of nature and such
since they studied the stars.
They stopped in Jerusalem
looking for the King of the Jews
to worship himby asking the people there,
"where is Jesus the King of the Jews"?
AFTER Jesus Christ was born,
that is about 2 years after
Jesus birth. Now this shows us
that the Wise
Men DID
NOT know the exact location of
our Lord Jesus Christ where he
is because they stopped in
Jerusalem looking for Jesus
Christ. The light of the star
covered a wide area, not a
narrow one. The Wise men by
following the star had a "Rough"
idea of where Jesus might be but
not the exact location. They
asked the people of Jerusalem
where Jesus was. So with that
the star DID NOT shine a light
beam to the exact location of
Jesus Christ, as many portrays
it, but actually the star was
the brightest star of all but it
did not shine a beam of light!
(Definition
of Wise Men, i.e. Magi,
Astrologer)
- (See Adam
Clarkes Commentary) - Matthew
2:1 -
It is
worthy of remark, that the
Anglo-Saxon translates the word Magoi by
a word which signifies astrologers,
from a word which means "a star
or planet", and another word
which means "to
know or understand."and
"Magi"
- (See Fausset's Bible
Dictionary) - (In Ot Magi
referred to Magicians,
Divinations).............However, Philo uses
it in
a good sense:
"men who gave themselves to the
study of
nature and
contemplation of the divine
perfection,
worthy of being counselors of
kings."
So
in Matthew
2:1 it
is used in the
better sense
of "wise
men," at once astronomers and astrologers
"from the E.," i.e. the. N.E.,
the region toward
the Euphrates from whence BALAAM (which see)
came
(Numbers
23:7; 22:5). Balaam's prophecy seems
to have been
known to them: "there shall come
a star out of
Jacob,
and a
scepter shall
arise out of
Israel."
Accordingly the very guide they look to
is a
star (a meteor
probably), and the question they ask is
"where is He that
is born
King of the Jews?"
Moreover, Daniel,
"chief
of the Magi,"
had foretold Messiah's kingdom (Daniel
2:44; 9:25);
naturally the Magi ("wise
men "looked for the kingdom and
the king among
the people
of him
whose fame
as a Magian
they had heard of.
Zoroaster's predictions led them
to look
for Zosiosh,
the Head
of the kingdom who
should conquer Ahriman and raise the dead.
Their presents,
"gold, frankincense,
and myrrh,"
were the usual gifts of subject nations (Psalms
72:15; 1 Kings 10:2,10; 2
Chronicles 9:24; Song of Solomon
3:6; 4:14).
c) Matthew
2:3-5 - King
Herod & Israel Troubled -
King Herod when he heard about
the King of the Jews
(Jesus)
being born,
he considered Jesus a major
threat to his own throne in the
future since not much longer
this King, Jesus Christ would
appear. King Herod totally
misunderstood about Jesus being
the King of the Jews, that
he
thought Jesus would be a earthly
Jewish King rather than the King
of Kings, a Universal King over
everyone. The Chief Priest and
the scribes seemed to know the
prophecies concerning the coming
of the promised Messiah, that he
would be born in Bethlehem. That
is also how the Astrologers were
able to find out that Jesus
was
born in Bethlehem not in
Jerusalem.
d) Matthew
2:6 - The
Prophecy of the Messiah (Micah
5:2) -
Prophecy states that a ruler,
out of Bethlehem,
land of Judah
shall (Shepherd my People Psalms
28:9).
Shepherd meaning Jesus Christ to
take care of, to guide, to
teach. And my people meaning
those that puts
their Faith and obedience in
Jesus Christ,
the son of God and our Messiah!
Those that their hearts are
Spiritually Circumcised, Born
Again Christians. Gods People
are not all Jewish, They are
only a slight few (a remnant Romans
9:27, 11:5)
As it is written; Romans
9:6-9 Israel's Rejection and God's Purpose (Genesis
25:19-23) 6 But
it is not that the word
of God has
taken no
effect. For they are not all
Israel who are of
Israel, 7 nor are
they all
children because they
are the seed
of Abraham;
but, "In
Isaac your seed shall
be called."* 8 That
is, those who are the children
of the flesh,
these are not
the children
of God;
but the children of the promise are counted as the seed. 9 For this is the word
of promise: "At
this time I will
come and Sarah shall have
a son."*
e) Matthew
2:7-8 - King
Herod Questions the Astrologers -
King Herod looked at Jesus Birth
as a future
threat to his
throne,
so he called the Astrologers in
order to find out what time the
star appeared over Jerusalem.
This way King Herod would know
Jesus estimated age, so he can
order the killing of all boys
that age and under. This is why
he had all of the boys under 2
years old killed in the hope
that Jesus Christ would be among
them and killed. In Herod's
misguided thinking he thought
that his throne, his position
would be protected (Matthew
2:16-18).
It took the Wise
Men about
2 years to find Jesus Christ.
So when they found Jesus Christ
he was a Toddler living in a
House (MT
2:11),
not in a manager at that time.
It Was this time that the Astrologer's
gave
Jesus Christ the 3 gifts. See (G)
below for the definitions of the
3 gifts.
f) Matthew
2:9-10 - The
Star Went Before Them -
As soon as the Wise
Men left
King Herod, the star went in
front of them,
and it stood above in space
where Jesus Christ was at, and
the Wise
Men were
so excited with great Joy as if
they knew that Jesus Christ is
the son of God and the Lord of
Lords. It seems somehow God
gave
them this knowledge to know that
Jesus Christ is the King of
Kings, the son of God, even
though the Astrologers are
from the Asian content most
likely.
g) Matthew
2:11-12 - Wise
Men Meet Jesus -
It took the Wise
Men about
2 years to find Jesus, due to
the
long travel and
that the star didn't appear to
them until after Jesus was
born. It was all done in Gods
timing. And when the Wise
Men came
to worship Jesus, it was a
HOUSE not
a manager that
they came to.. Jesus at that
time was a toddler not a infant.
We do not know how much of each
gift that was given to Jesus or
what Jesus parents did with the
gifts, but we do know that the Wise
Men gave
to Jesus 3 types of gifts, each
representing
#1 Gold-Importance,
Purity, Authority, and His
Rank/Position!
-
Jesus as King/God in
the Flesh
#2 Frankincense
(Incense)-In Ceremony,
Worship of Jesus, Claiming him
as God, Burnt Offering to
Jesus,
#3 Myrrh-Incense,
Used to perfume dead bodies,
(For Jesus Crucifixion/Death)!
And
the Astrologers were
warned by God to go another way.
Herod would have killed them
because they did not report back
to him.

4) The
Escape to Egypt - Matthew
2:13-18 -
a) Matthew
2:13 - Angel
Warns Joseph -
The reason why the Angel of God
warns Joseph to quickly get
up,
and take his
family to Egypt is because, King
Herod thought that Jesus Christ
is a threat to his throne,
hearing that Jesus is the King
of the Jews. This is the first
attempt by the devil himself
working through King Herod to
try and kill Jesus in the hope
that
the prophecies of old (OT) would
not come true. If the
prophecies didn't come true then
the devil would have at least
won the battle if not the war
against God!
It is written concerning this
exact situation; Revelation
12:1-6
12 A
great and
wondrous sign
appeared in
heaven: a
woman (The
Church))
clothed
with the sun,
with the moon under
her feet and a
crown of twelve stars (12
Disciples)
on her head. 2 She
was pregnant and cried out
in
pain as she was about to give
birth. 3 Then
another sign
appeared in
heaven:
an enormous red
dragon (The
Devil)
with seven
heads
and ten
horns
and seven
crowns on
his heads. 4 His
tail swept a
third of the stars out of the sky and
flung them to the earth.
The dragon
stood in front of the woman who
was about to give birth, so
that
he might devour her child the
moment it was born. 5 She
gave birth to a son, a male
child, who will rule all
the
nations with an iron scepter.
And her child was snatched up to
God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled
into the desert to a
place prepared for her by
God,
where she might be taken care
of for 1,260 days.
b) Matthew
2:14-15 - Joseph
& Family Escaped -
With out hesitation Joseph took
his family and left quickly
out of Bethlehem,
to go to live in Egypt until it
was time for them to return to
Israel when it would be safe.
At this time Jesus was about 2
years old. This is the first
attempt of assassination on
Jesus Christ. That fulfilled one
of the prophecies concerning our
Lord Jesus Christ was fulfilled;
"Out of Egypt I called My Son"
(Exodus
4:22-23, Hosea 11:1).
c) Matthew
2:16-17 - King
Herod Became Very Angry -
When King Herod realized that
the wise
men were
not coming back to
tell him about where Jesus was
so that he could find and kill
Jesus Christ, the toddler at the
time, he ordered that all male
children under 2 years old in
Bethlehem and the surrounding
districts were to be killed
because he felt that Jesus was a
threat to his throne and power
in the future because the wise
men referred to Jesus as "The
King of the Jews".
d) Matthew
2:17-18 - Prophecy,
Rachel Weeping -
(Jeremiah
31:15)
Rachel, refers to Bethlehem &
the
surrounding areas in
this passage of scripture. There
will be great weeping, sadness &
morning for the male children
under 2 years old that were
murdered. The mothers of those
children were in such of great
pain they even refused to be
comforted.

2:19-20 - Joseph
told to return to Israel -
As promised to Joseph earlier
that the Angel would
bring Joseph word,
most likely to let Joseph know
when it was safe to return to
Israel. To which the Angel did
tell Joseph to take his family
and return to Israel, because
Herod that was looking for Jesus
to kill him is now dead. The
Angel didn't tell Joseph what
city to go to, just the nation
of Israel itself.
b) Matthew
2:21-22 - Joseph
Goes to Galilee, The Land of the
Gentiles -
Because Herod's son was ruling
over Judea,
Joseph was afraid to go to
Judea, because Herod's son may
do as his dad tried to do, and
go after Jesus to try and kill
him, so Joseph took his family
to the land of Galilee, the area
of the Gentiles instead.
c) Matthew
2:23 - Prophecy
Fulfilled, Joseph Went to
Nazareth -
Joseph, Mary and Jesus dwelt,
lived in a
city called
Nazareth, among the gentiles
this fulfilled another prophecy
concerning our Lord Jesus
Christ, that Jesus would be
called a Nazarene. Yet this
must be un recorded scripture in
the Old Testament, because in
any Bible translation
I can not find the scripture "He
shall be called a Nazarene!

3:1-3 - John
Preaches REPENT! -
John has given up his life in
order to do his calling, that is
to
prepare the way
for the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, right before he started
his calling. John told the
people to REPENT, to stop
sinning! This is Another
Prophecy fulfilled concerning
the coming Messiah, Jesus
Christ. (John Prepares the Way
Isa 40:3 & Mal
3:1).
b) Matthew
3:4 - Johns
Appearance & Behavior -
John didn't behave like anyone
normal, nor did he dress
with nice clothing,
nor did he ever marry or do
anything like the prophets,
priest or pastors of today does.
He lived in the wilderness, ate
locust with wild honey and wore
wild type of clothing, yet he is
the most important prophet if
all of the prophets (Mt
11:11)
Yet he is a true Prophet of God
and well respected and accepted
among the people of his day..
His only purpose and goal in
life was to prepare the way for
the coming Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ. To get
the Jewish
hearts ready to turn to Jesus
Christ with repentance and
obedience! He was not called to
be as the world is or does nor
have the mind set of the world.
c) Matthew
3:5-6 - Water
Baptism is (Ceremonial) For
Repentance of Sins -
People from all over came to
John the Baptist to
be baptized
in water for the remission of
sins. Water Baptism represents
(is symbolic, i.e. Purification)
for the washing away of sins.
Yes Water Baptism is
required as part of salvation.
As it is written;
Matthew
28:19 Go
therefore and make disciples of
all the nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
DEFINITION of Baptism From
Interlinear Bible, Greek - NT:907 bapti/zw
baptizo (bap-tid'-zo); from a
derivative of NT:911; to
immerse, submerge; to make
overwhelmed (i.e. fully wet);
used only (in the N. T.) of
ceremonial ablution, especially
(technically) of the ordinance
of Christian baptism:
d) Matthew
3:7-9a - Bear
Fruit, Worthy of Repentance -
The Pharisees & Sadducees to
which thought they
were pleasing
to
God, a self righteous group
to say the least did not bear
fruits that was worthy of
repentance, that is a changed, a
renewed heart and mind (2Co
4:16,5:17, Col 3:8-12),
but they thought they were
righteous by observing the law
with their so called good works
(Ro
4:1-6, 9:12, 11:5-6),
and yet their hearts are full of
dead mans bones as Jesus Christ
later on put it
(Mt
23:27).
They acted as though they have
no sin, that they are all this
and that, not realize that they
are sinners like the
rest of us..
e) Matthew
3:9b-10 The
True Chosen Children of God
(Seeds of Abraham) -
(See Romans
9:6)
- The true
children of
Abraham (Jews) are not those
that are born in Israel (Ro
9:6,9: 27, 11:5)
they are one in Christ both
Jew
or Gentile
(Gal
3:28-29)
that has
faith in God through Jesus
Christ,
as John said that God can raise
up children for Abraham out of
these stones (Mt
3:9)
. As John WARNS them that God
is ready to cut them off from
him. So if they do not bear
fruit in
their minds, their hearts and
their behaviors, to change them
they will be cut off from God
and thrown into the fire (Mt
3:10,
Ac 3:23).
So in that, many of Jews does
end up in the lake of fire to be
destroyed forever, never again
to have the
opportunity for
forgiveness and grace from
God. They being cut off from
the vine (Romans
11:17)
, a new vine grew in its place,
grafted in, that is Jew &
Gentile Born Again Christians.
Even in the OT and the NT for
Both it always took Faith in God
to be saved, but now it takes
Faith also in his son Jesus
Christ to be saved.
The Jews with no Faith were cut
off, but we gentiles can also be
cutoff from Christ if we lose
our faith as it is written
Romans 11:20 Granted.
But they were broken off because
of unbelief,
and you stand by
faith.
Do not be arrogant, but be
afraid, be very afraid!
f) Matthew
3:11-12 - Jesus
Baptizes with Holy Spirit & Fire -
Jesus is coming to clean house,
(The Church),
the disobedient
will be thrown into the fire
(Hell) and the obedient will be
with him in heaven, and Jesus
will
baptize those
that are the children of God
with the Holy Spirit and Fire,
and John he baptized with
water for the remission of sins.
In today's times even that
baptizes, is a submersion in
water is still a requirement
that symbolizes the washing away
of sins, a getting rid of sins,
washing away of the filth and
dirt that once consumed our
hearts and minds. It is through
Jesus Christ that we get power
to stop sinning, and power to
cast out devils, and different
gifts etc!

As we know in Jesus ministry
times that he traveled mainly on
foot
andaccording to my (Bible Maps)
with its measurement of miles,
our Lord Jesus Christ walked
roughly 40 to 50 miles from
Galilee to the Jordan River to
have John Baptize him.
b) Matthew
3:14-15 - All
Righteousness Fulfilled -
When Jesus came to John, he,
John was so humble that he
did
not want to
Baptize Jesus
because John knew he himself is
a sinner, and he knew that Jesus
was not. Jesus is the anointed
one of God. But Jesus told him
to Baptize him
in order that all righteousness
may be fulfilled!. We know that
being Baptized is
a
(FULL
EMERSION) in water is symbolic for the
remission of sins, even though
Jesus NEVER has sinned! But
Jesus had John Baptize him
in order to obey the Ordnances
that was handed down by Moses.
c) Matthew
3:16-17 - God
Pleased with His Son -
Jesus was fully immersed in water when
John the Baptist,
Baptized Jesus,
and
when that took place, and Jesus
got Baptized,
the complete power of God came
to our
Lord Jesus Christ and
then God said : "This
my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased".
Now since Jesus
Christ had to be
Baptized by water and since
Jesus told the disciples to go
and make disciples of all
nations and BAPTIZE them (Mt
28:19)
shows that Baptism is part of
salvation, a symbol of getting
rid of our sins
(Mk
1:8, Jn 4:1-2, Acts 8:38).
d) Smith's
Bible Dictionary meaning Baptism It
is well known
that ablution
or bathing was common
in most
ancient
nations as
a preparation for prayers
and sacrifice
or as expiatory of
sin. In warm
countries this
connection is
probably even closer than in colder climates;
and hence the frequency of
ablution in the
religious rites throughout the East. Baptism
in the name
of theFather, Son and Holy
Ghost is
the rite or
ordinance by which persons
are admitted into the Church
of Christ.
It is the public profession
of faith and discipleship. Baptism
signifies
—
1. A
confession of faith in Christ;
2. A
cleansing or washing of the soul from sin;
3. A
death to sin and a
new life in righteousness.
The mode and subjects
of baptism being
much-controverted subjects,
each one can best study
them in the works
devoted to
those questions.
The command to baptize was co-extensive with the command to
preach the gospel. All
nations were
to be evangelized; and they were
to be made disciples,
admitted into the fellowship
of Christ's religion, by
baptism. Matthew
28:19.
It appears to have
been a kind of transition
from the Jewish
baptism to
the Christian.
The distinction between John's baptism and Christian
baptism appears in the case
of Apollos, Acts
18:26,27,
and of the disciples at Ephesus mentioned
Acts
19:1-6.
We cannot but draw from this history the
inference that
in
Christian baptism there was a deeper
spiritual significance.

a) Matthew
4:1-2 - The
Holy Spirit led Jesus to the
Wilderness -
It was the Holy Spirit that led
Jesus into the
wilderness to be
tempted by the devil "after"
Jesus had fasted for 40 days and
40 nights, to where he was at
his physical and mental weakest
points, the devil then came and
tried to temp Jesus Christ 3
times. I believe another purpose
that Jesus fasted for 40
days/nights was to bring his
mind and body into total
submission to him, to be able to
overcome any flesh weaknesses,
to discipline himself (Dt
8:5)!
b) Matthew
4:3-4 - Satan
tempted Jesus to doubt who he is -
Now since Jesus was very hungry
after fasting
for 40 days and 40
nights, at his physically and
mentally at his weakest points,
Satan used Jesus physical and
mental (fleshly) weakness to
tempt Jesus by trying to get
Jesus Christ to doubt
who he is, if he really is the
Son of God.
To fight that temptation Jesus
Christ our Lord used the Holy
Words of God (Deuteronomy
8:3)
instead of his own personal
opinions or ideas. By telling
Satan that he lives by every
word out of the mouth of God.
The Holy Words of God carries
tons of power against evil. -
See Deuteronomy
8:3.
c) Matthew
4:5-7 - Satan
tried to get Jesus to tempt God,
His Power -
In this next temptation, Satan
takes
Jesus out of the
wilderness to Jerusalem up to
the highest point of the biggest
church there, and then Satan
tries to trick Jesus Christ by
twisting
the meaning of the scripture in Psalms
91:11-12 into
committing suicide, by using
Jesus weak (flesh) his physical
and mind that was weak (from
hunger). But our Lord Jesus
Christ uses
Gods Holy Words
again to fight and resist the
evil
that was at hand (Deuteronomy
6:16).
See Psalms
91:11-12 & See Deuteronomy 6:16.
d) Matthew
4:8-10 - Satan
tempts Jesus with Kingdoms,
Riches & Power -
In this Satan take Jesus Christ
to
a extremely high
mountain and tempts our Lord
Jesus Christ with all the
kingdoms of the world, the
powers and riches of it, that
Satan would give Jesus all of
that if Jesus Christ would
worship him instead of
worshipping God his Father. And
again Jesus using Gods Holy
words to resist temptation, the
evils of Satan, by saying we
shall worship God only, Deuteronomy
6:13,
See 14 too. See Deuteronomy 6:13 & 14.
e) Matthew
4:11 - Angels
Ministered to Jesus -
Now after Jesus has fasted for
40 days and nights, and after
the devil tempted
Jesus 3 times, then the Angels
of the Lord came to Jesus Christ
our Lord to help him to nurse
him back to health since at that
point Jesus flesh and mind was
very weak from hunger. But DON'T
FORGET, that Jesus strength was
not in his flesh but in the
Spirit, that is the power of God
that was with him AMEN!

4:12-13 - Jesus
Went to the Gentiles -
When Jesus Christ has heard of
John being put into prison
because of King
Herod wickedness, this was a
signal for Jesus Christ to start
his ministry. John had to
become
less so that Jesus Christ
could be more. So then Jesus
Christ left Nazareth and went up
about 20 miles NE of
Nazareth to
the Gentiles at Capernaum near
the sea, for them to hear the
good news, so they can have hope
and freed from their darkness of
sin.
The following is a
Old Testament prophecy directly
related to this scripture.Isaiah 9:1 Nevertheless
the gloom
will not be upon her
who is distressed, As when at
first He lightly esteemed The
land of Zebulon and the land of
Naphtali, And afterward more
heavily oppressed her, By the
way of the sea, beyond the
Jordan, In
Galilee of
the Gentiles. 2
The people who walked in
darkness Have
seen a great light; Those
who dwelt in the land
of the
shadow of death, Upon them a light
has shined.
b) Matthew
4:17 - Jesus
Preaches Repent -
Jesus first preaches for all
people to repent, before
he preached any
other
message as all ministers,
pastors and teachers of Gods
Holy Words should constantly
preach and teach
REPENTANCE,
for the Kingdom
of heaven is
now with-in our (Gentiles)
grasp, that wasn't available to
us
before it seems. (See Below
for Definition
of Repentance
& Kingdom of Heaven).
c) Definition
of Repentance -
(From Easton's Bible Dictionary)
- Evangelical repentance consists
of (1) a true
sense of one sown guilt and sinfulness; (2) an
apprehension of God's mercy in
Christ; (3) an actual hatred of
sin
(Psalms
119:128; Job 42:5,6; 2
Corinthians 7:10)
and turning from it to God; and
(4) a persistent Endeavour
after
a holy life in a walking with
God in the way of his
commandments.
d) Definition
of "Kingdom of Heaven"
- (From Faucets Bible
Dictionary) - (Greek "the
heavens"): of God. The
former is
Matthew's phrase, the latter
Mark's phrase and Luke's phrase.
Derived from Daniel
2:44; 4:26;
7:13-14,27.
Messiah's kingdom, as a whole,
both in its present spiritual
invisible phase, the gospel
dispensation
of greet, and also
in its future manifestation on
earth in glory, when finally
heaven and earth shall be joined
(John
1:51; Revelation 21:1-22:21).
Our Lord's parables designate
several aspects and phases of it
by the one common phrase, "the
kingdom of the
heavens," or "of
God, is like," etc.- - Friends Kingdom of Heaven
seems to be said in Parables
regarding the
mysteries of
Salvation by Jesus Christ .....
as it is Written; Matthew
13:10-17
10 And the disciples came and
said to Him, "Why do You speak
to them in parables?"
11 He answered and said to them, "Because
it has been given to you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of
heaven, but to them it has not
been given. 12 For whoever has,
to him more will be given, and
he will have
abundance; but
whoever does not have, even what
he has will be taken away from
him.
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing
they do not see, and hearing
they do not hear, nor do
they
understand. 14 And in them the
prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled,
which says:
'Hearing you will hear and shall
not understand, And seeing you
will see and not perceive; 15
For the hearts of this people
have grown dull.
Their ears are
hard of hearing, And their eyes
they have closed, Lest they
should see with their eyes and
hear
with their ears, Lest they
should understand with their
hearts and turn, So that I
should heal them.'
16 But blessed are your eyes for
they see, and your ears for they
hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to
you that many
prophets and
righteous men desired to see
what you see, and did not see
it, and to hear what you hear,
and did
not hear it.
10) Jesus
calls his first Disciples - Matthew
4:18-22 -
a) Matthew
4:18-20 - 2
Brothers, Peter & Andrew Called -
Just as Noah gathered 2 each of
unclean animals
into the Ark,
these 2 brothers (unclean
meaning sinners) were called and
had their own fishing business
it seems.
Now Notice that
Jesus Christ called them to
salvation and Ministry work,
they didn't first seek him. But
Jesus
Christ sought after them,
(Chosen them). So when Jesus
Christ called them, they left
all they owned and had,
and
without hesitation they followed
Jesus Christ even though they
did not know him at all or even
where he came from.
No the name Simon means
"Hearing" and the name Jesus
gave him "Peter" means "Stone or
Rock" in Greek. Remember Jesus
said to
Simon-Peter on this Rock
"Hearing-Rock" I will build my
church.. Now the 2 Brothers
were partners in the
fishing business with the Dad
and the 2 Zebedee Brothers (Luke
5:10).
b) Matthews
4:21-22 - 2
Brothers, James & John Called -
Just as Noah gathered 2 each of
unclean animals
into the Ark,
these 2 brothers (unclean
meaning sinners) were called
these 2 brothers that were
working for their
dads fishing
business
immediately left their dad,
their jobs, to follow Jesus
Christ as soon as Jesus Christ
called
them. Now notice that
Jesus
Christ first choose them, they
did not first choose Jesus
Christ, he had to call them
and
they had to answer that call.
I
can only imagine what their dad
was thinking and saying to them
as they walked away from him and
the
business, and
they did not know Jesus either.
Now the 2 Zebedee Brothers were
of higher financial status since
their dad had hired
servants working with them as
well (Mark
1:20).
Now the 2 Brothers were partners
in the
fishing business with the
Dad
and the 2 Zebedee Brothers (Luke
5:10).
